Death of One, Injuries to Second in Tragic California Mountain Lion Attack

In the first fatal mountain lion attack in California in 20 years, one man is dead, and another was badly injured. The pair of brothers were hunting for antler sheds in El Dorado County when they encountered the animal. The victim, identified as 32-year-old Charles Moore, was mauled by the mountain lion and later died from his injuries. His brother, 28-year-old Brandon Thompson, was also attacked by the lion and is currently receiving treatment for his injuries.
